Born in Weil am Rhein, Uta Buhl came to Zurich in 1952. She trained as a secretary at the commercial school and then worked for over ten years in various production and transport companies. After her marriage in 1966 she extended her education at the AKAD with the Matura. The first son was born in 1968, the twins in 1973.

 

Uta Buhl has been a journalist since 1977. She was a correspondent for two trade magazines in Germany (Sport Textile, Toys). At the same time she attended various courses at the MAZ (Media Training Centre) and learned the techniques of writing.

 

Since 1983 she has been a member of the Swiss Association of Specialist Journalists (SFJ). In 1989, she took over as editor-in-chief of the association's magazine for the next 20 years and was elected to the board shortly afterwards, from which she resigned in 2015.

 

For several years she has been jointly responsible for the Journal of the magazine of RETINA Suisse and, most recently, she is a member of ViF, with whom she has been friends for many years.
